2017 奥斯卡的入围名单已发布，其中《Fences》获得共 4 项提名包括最佳剧本，《Fences》的编剧 Denzel Washington 和 Viola Davis 则指原来参照剧作家 August Wilson 的原著改编，但可惜的是原来 August Wilson 在 2005 年时已逝世。

其实不少奥斯卡得奖者也在离世后才获得迟来的荣誉，当中最触目的必定是被誉为历来最佳 Joker 、凭 Christophen Nolan 执导《The Dark Knight》的 Heath Ledger。
